Ora che Sera e Nyktos sono nelle mani di Kolis, c’è solo un modo per liberare l’affascinante Primordiale, ed evitare che l’esercito delle Terre d’Ombra invada Dalos innescando una guerra feroce tra Vita e Morte. Convincere il falso Re degli Dei, però, non sarà affatto facile, nemmeno per una come Seraphena che è stata addestrata a fingere di essere chi non è. Per giunta, la natura imprevedibile e il contorto senso dell’onore di Kolis la lasciano scossa nel profondo: nulla avrebbe mai potuto prepararla alla crudeltà della sua Corte o alle terribili verità che le rivela, verità che ribaltano ciò che ha capito sul proprio dovere e sulla creazione stessa dei regni. Ma sopravvivere a Kolis è solo uno dei problemi che Sera deve affrontare: l'Ascensione è ormai vicina, e anche se Nyktos è disposto a fare qualunque cosa per salvarla e darle la vita che merita, persino a rischiare la totale distruzione dei regni, non c’è più tempo. Il destino, ormai, sembra segnato per entrambi… A meno che non si verifichi qualcosa di assolutamente inaspettato e imprevedibile. Qualcosa che nessuno sa, e che nessuna profezia ha mai annunciato. Qualcosa che nemmeno i Fati sono in grado di controllare...

Beh direi che il libro inizia proprio alla grande. Se vi stavate annoiando, adesso non più. Basta leggere il primo capitolo per rientrare nella storia e provare tutte le emozioni dei personaggi. Wow, è proprio… wow

Proprio quello che aspettavamo: una battaglia tra il nostro Primordiale preferito e il falso re. Lo scontro è inevitabile, dato il finale del secondo libro c’era da aspettarselo.

E le alleanze di cui vi parlavo, erano vere? False? Confusione, misteri, tradimenti e tanto altro ancora è racchiuso in queste pagine e rimarrete col fiato sospeso fin dalle prime.

Nyktos non ha scelto le braci della vita, ha scelto lei, Sera. La difenderà fino alla morte, solo che adesso Kolis sa che l’anima di Sotoria è dentro Sera. Cosa succederà secondo voi? Come reagirà Kolis? Vorrà ancora ucciderla? Non vi resta che leggerlo per scoprirlo.

La nostra protagonista, resta sempre cazzutissima. Non si arrende. Lotta per se stessa e per coloro che ama.

Il libro mi ha annoiata verso metà devo dire, vediamo un Kolis che non ci aspettavamo e l’ho odiato. Cioè, se prima sapevamo già che lui fosse il cattivo della storia, adesso vi sanguineranno gli occhi leggendo.

Poi si riprende verso la fine, ma anche lì non mi ha convinta del tutto.

Mi aspettavo altro, ho comunque apprezzato i riferimenti e tutto ciò che ci fa capire di Poppy e Cas.

Le descrizioni sono tante, sono lunghe (come i pensieri della nostra protagonista), potrebbero annoiare o potreste semplicemente avere voglia di saltarle per la curiosità di sapere cosa accade. Beh, non fatelo. Almeno non saltatele tutte se volete capirci qualcosa sulla storia, sulla mente contorta della nostra cara autrice 😂

Una cosa profonda fatemela dire…

Alla fine è incredibile come ogni cosa, ogni azione, desiderio, guerra si riduca tutto all’amore. Che sia quello autentico e dolce o quello contorto e ossessivo, il filo conduttore di tutto resta sempre l’amore.

Kolis ha iniziato tutto questo per un’amore perduto. Oltre l’ossessione del potere, certo.

«Mi dispiace di non averti raggiunta prima, ma adesso ci sono io con te, liessa, e non ti lascerò. Non ti lascerò mai più.»

“ […] prendere le braci significava uccidermi, e lui aveva scelto me. Anche se io stavo già morendo e quindi era una cosa sciocca da fare.

Ma comunque bellissima.“

Per quella parte più lenta questo volume purtroppo per me non è un 5 stelle rispetto agli altri.

Well I'd say the book starts off great. If you were getting bored, not anymore. Just read the first chapter to get back into the story and experience all the emotions of the characters.

Wow, that's just… wow Just what we've been waiting for: a battle between our favorite Primordial and the false king. The clash is inevitable, given the ending of the second book it was to be expected.

And the alliances I was telling you about, were they true? False? Confusion, mysteries, betrayals and much more is contained in these pages and you will be left in suspense right from the first. Nyktos didn't choose the embers of life, he chose her, Sera. He will defend her until his death, only now Kolis knows that Sotoria's soul is inside Sera.

What do you think will happen? How will Kolis react? Will he still want to kill her? You'll just have to read it to find out.

Our protagonist is always very badass. He doesn't give up. She fights for herself and for those she loves.

The book bored me towards the middle I must say, we see a Kolis we didn't expect and I hated him. I mean, if before we already knew that he was the villain of the story, now your eyes will bleed reading. Then it picks up towards the end, but even there it didn't completely convince me. I expected more, but I still appreciated the references and everything it makes us understand about Poppy and Cas.

There are many descriptions, they are long (like the thoughts of our protagonist), they might get boring or you might simply want to skip them out of curiosity to know what happens. Well, don't do it. At least don't skip them all if you want to understand something about the story, about the twisted mind of our dear author 😂

Let me tell you something profound… In the end it is incredible how everything, every action, desire, war is all reduced to love. Whether it's the authentic and sweet one or the twisted and obsessive one, the common thread throughout everything always remains love. Kolis started all this for a lost love. Beyond the obsession with power, of course.

For that slower part this volume unfortunately for me is not a 5 star compared to the others.
