Beh che dire? Zia J ci riporta nel mondo di Poppy e Casteel, ma in un tempo passato.

Ci regala questa serie prequel per rispondere ai dubbi, alle domande che ci siamo tutti fatti leggendo la serie di Sangue e Cenere. In questa storia i protagonisti sono Seraphena e il nostro bellissimo, fantastico, misterioso, affascinante, attraente, ipnotico, magnet- OK BASTA, mi fermo… stavamo dicendo? Ah si, il nostro protagonista maschile è il Primordiale della Morte, Nyktos.

Sera non ha avuto una vita, lei è la Prescelta, la Vergine destinata a divenire la consorte del Primordiale della Morte, ma non tutti sapevano che era stata addestrata per un unico scopo: diventare il punto debole del Primordiale e poi ucciderlo.

Erano convinti che in questo modo avrebbero salvato il loro Regno.

Si sa però, che non tutto va sempre secondo i piani, il Primordiale non è pronto ad avere una consorte, ma più avanti si farà strada quella parolina che sconvolge tutto. Amore. L’avete mai provato? Perché vi assicuro che lo sentirete leggendo di loro due. Non sono scintille loro, ma fuochi d’artificio.

I personaggi sono ben sviluppati, anche quelli secondari hanno il loro giusto spazio. Il world building? Che ve lo dico a fare, qualcosa di magico. Prima o poi vogliamo da Zia J uno schema con tutte le creature che la sua testa partorisce. Sono tante. Davvero. E alcuni sono impossibili da non amare, come i nostri cari Draken. Li amerete.

Sera e Poppy sono simili, entrambe cazzute, con un regno da salvare, troppe responsabilità che non hanno chiesto.

Sera doveva far innamorare Nyktos ma scoprirà invece che è facile innamorarsi di lui. Posso aggiungere altri aggettivi? Romantico e Passionale.

Io sono innamorata.

Il libro mi ha tenuta incollata alle pagine dall’ inizio alla fine. I capitoli potrebbero essere un po’ lunghi, ma il problema è smettere di leggere, non ne sentirete nemmeno il peso, vorrete sempre scoprire pagina dopo pagina cosa succederà. Cosa c’è in serbo per loro.

Se siete arrivati fin qui con l’intenzione di leggere questo libro immagino conosciate già la penna della nostra autrice, sapete bene che non vi deluderà. Alcune parti potrebbero essere lente, servono da ponte, da contorno alla storia, non ci sarà molta azione all’inizio ma non vi annoierete mai. Le descrizioni dettagliate vi faranno immergere meglio nella storia.

Se avete amato Sangue e Cenere, amerete anche questo (anche di più), come per le uscite precedenti anche questo volume si compone di ben 750 pagine.

Well… what can I say? Aunt J bring us in a similar world as the Casteel and Poppy’s one, but in the past. I think this is a gift, a prequel series, to answer to the lots of questions about the main one, Blood and Ash. Main characters, in this story, are Seraphena and our handsome, awesome, mysterious, attractive, hypnotic, magnet… OK, ENOUGH, where were we? Oh yeah, our MMC, Nyktos, the Primal of Death.

Sera had no life, she was The Chosen, The Maiden (sounds familiar?), her destiny was to become Nyktos’ Consort, but under the veil she also was an assassin, the one who would have to kill the Primal of Death. She was trained for that one purpose: first become his soft spot, and then he will be gone. That was necessary for get the Kingdom finally safe. At least, she thought so.

However, nothing goes according to plans, and the Primal is not ready to get married.

Do you guys know anything about love? No? I can assure you that Love is exactly what you’ll feel for Nyktos and Sera. Not sparks, but fireworks.

Characters are well developed, and the side ones have their space in the plot. The world building, you ask? I don’t need to tell you, it’s something magical… literally. We’ll ask a scheme with all the creatures that aunt J’s brain gives birth, sooner or later. They’re a lot. Really. And some of them are truly hard not to love, like the Draken… you’ll love them.

Sera and Poppy are similar, both badass, with a Kingdom as burden and lots of responsibilities that they did not ask for.

 Sera was supposed to make Nyktos fall in love with her, but she’ll find that is very simple to fall in love with him, instead. May I add some other adjectives? Passional and Romantic.

I am in love.

This book got me stuck with it since the beginning. Chapters could be a little long, but the problem is to stop reading. You won’t eve mind about chapters, because page after pages the curiosity will push you to keep reading ‘til the end. Even then.

If you are yet reading this review, and you are going to read the book, I guess you know about the Armetrout’s writing style, so you know it won’t disappoint. There are parts of the story a bit slow-going, but useful to line the circumstances of the plot. There is not much action in the first chapters, but I can assure you that you will never get bored: detailed descriptions will make you feel inside the story.

If you loved From Blood and Ash, then you’ll love this book even more. This book, like the previous ones, is about 750 pages.
