Guys, siamo all’ultimo libro della serie From Blood and Ash uscito in Italia finora. Anima di Cenere e Sangue è un volume continuativo della serie, per il 30% almeno, per il resto è una passeggiata per il sentiero dei ricordi di ciò che avvenne in Sangue e Cenere, dal punto di vista di Casteel. Devo ammettere che alla prima lettura sono rimasta un po’ delusa: mi aspettavo più presente, ma la nostra autrice ha fatto entrare Poppy in stasi, ed è rimasta in questa condizione per tutto il sacrosanto libro per cui Cas comincia a raccontarle la loro storia a partire dal loro primo incontro. Alla prima lettura è passato in secondo piano anche il fatto che il libro sia interamente narrato dal punto di vista maschile, che è una cosa che notoriamente adoro. Ho sempre preferito il POV maschile a quello femminile, I mean… sono le uniche volte in cui riesco a capire cosa cavolo passa nella testa degli uomini. Anyway, è stato solo alla seconda lettura che mi sono ricreduta, ho superato il senso di delusione stupido che ho avuto, e ho incontrato il vero senso di questo libro: amare Casteel più di quanto facessi già. Obiettivo raggiunto. Amo il modo in cui funziona la testa di Cas, e il rapporto con Kieran, e quei pochi ma importanti capitoli al presente…specialmente l’ultimo. Raga l’ultimo capitolo è la vita. E niente, non ho molto altro da dire, visto che praticamente stiamo riparlando di Sangue e Cenere. Posso solo ribadire che Poppy è il mio personaggio preferito di sempre, ammiro la forza e la bontà di questa ragazza. E non vedo l’ora di scoprire il ruolo di tanti altri personaggi nel corso dei prossimi libri, anche perché ci stiamo avvicinando alla fine. Ires, Malec se si riprende, Nektas che ho imparato ad apprezzare dalla serie prequel, Sera e Nyktos che spero saranno più che solamente nominati… urlo al pensiero.

Guys, this is the last book of the From Blood and Ash series released in Italy, so far. A Soul of Ash and Blood is a continuous book of the series for at least 30%, for the rest it is a walk down the memory lane of what happened in “Blood and Ash”, from Casteel's point of view. I must admit that when I first read it, I was a little disappointed: I expected more present chapters, but our author made Poppy enter into stasis, and she remained in this condition for the whole sacrosanct book, so Cas begins to tell her their story, starting from their first meeting. The first time I also overlooked the fact that the book is entirely narrated from the male point of view, which is something I notoriously love. I have always preferred the male POV to the female one, I mean... those are the only times I can understand what the hell goes on in men's heads. Anyway, it was only in my second reading that I changed my mind: I got over the stupid feeling of disappointment I had, and I met the true meaning of this book: to love Casteel more than I already did. Goal achieved. I love the way Cas's head works, and the relationship with Kieran, and those few but important chapters in the present tense... especially the last one. Guys, last chapter is life. So here we are, I don't have much else to say, since we're basically talking about Blood and Ashes again. I can only reiterate that Poppy is my favourite character ever, I admire the strength and goodness of this girl. And I can't wait to discover the role of many other side characters in the next books, because we're getting closer to the end. Ires, Malec if he recovers, Nektas who I learned to appreciate from the prequel series, Sera and Nyktos who I hope will be more than just mentioned... I might scream at the thought.
